HALA Membership Grows to 22
HALA, The Housing Associations Legal Alliance, welcomes another two members which sees the group grow to 22.
Based in Enfield, Christian Action Housing has been serving the residents of North London for over 50 years. From small beginnings when members of local churches came together to provide accomodation for homeless single people, Christian Action is now a social landlord that provides mainly rented accomodation across Enfield, Barnet, Harringey and Waltham Forest., housing over 1,590 tenants.
MHS Homes Group based in Chatham, are the largest independent social landlord in the UK. They have been operating for 25 years and own and manage over 10,000 homes in the Medway, Maidstone, Gravesham, Dartford and Tonbridge and Malling areas of Kent. Their belief is that everyone needs a decent home.
Formed in 2010 HALA ensures that it's members make significant savings on a huge range of legal fees. This in addition to many additional free of charge benefits including, legal training, social value benefits such as work experience/placements for residents, drop in surgeries, legal updates and crucially, the sharing of relevant advice between members.
Kennedy Cater closely manage the framework, undertaking annual law firm asessments and ad hoc checking of bills to ensure adherence to the stated rates.
