Hastoe Group has become the 15th Housing Association to join HALA, ‘The Housing Associations’ Legal Alliance’, making this one of the most successful collaborations of its kind in the UK.

Now in its 8th year this nationwide Alliance, managed by specialist legal consultancy Kennedy Cater, continues to ensure that members have access to high quality legal advice from its panel law firms.

Key to its growing success are its demonstrable value for money rates, which typically deliver annual savings of up to 25%. This is achieved through the joint procurement of external legal services, including the establishment of the HALA Solicitors Panel, free of charge Value Added Benefits, and through the sharing of legal knowledge and best practice.

Established in 1962, Hastoe owns and manages over 7,500 homes in over 70 local authority areas across the south of England from Norfolk down to Cornwall. They are the leading specialist rural housing association, providing sustainable, affordable homes to enable local people to remain within their communities.

Will Roberts, Finance Director and Legal Company Secretary at Hastoe comments,

‘We are delighted to have become the latest member of HALA and look forward to enjoying the wide ranging benefits available to us as the Alliance continues to grow.’

Tim Morel, Director and Co-Founder of Kennedy Cater, adds,

‘Reduced legal fees without compromising quality, and monthly management information are notable draws for Housing Associations joining HALA. However HALA also offers significant free of charge add on benefits; notably a ‘needs based’ training programme that is expertly fulfilled by the panel firms, as well as bespoke in-house training sessions delivering further significant savings.’
